Gorgonians are marine organisms belonging to the group of cnidarians (corals, jellyfish and sea anemones). The skeleton of these fascinating creatures is made of a calcareous coral-like substance and they often have fan- or shrub-shaped branches. Their colors range from soft shades of white and yellow to red, orange, and purple.
We offer a technical diving dive in l’Ametlla de Mar at a depth of more than 40 meters to visit a rock formation with a forest of large red and yellow gorgonians. They provide shelter and habitat for a variety of marine organisms, such as fish, sea squirts, sponges… and they are an integral part of marine ecosystems and contribute to biodiversity. They are beautiful and essential sea creatures that play a vital role in our seas.
